Last week we staged a sweet bungalow in the Thousand Oaks area of Berkeley — known for its quaint houses, big trees, and cute shops. This home had features that reminded us of a beach cottage — wood paneled ceilings, large windows and a loft-like upstairs. Although it’s a small house, it features built-ins and nooks and crannies that offer great storage and fun display opportunities.
The living room, with gleaming wood floors and bright white trim.
There’s something so charming about a kitchen that hasn’t been remodeled, don’t you agree?
Here are some of the built-in storage/display features, in the kitchen, the entryway . . .
… and the kid’s room.
At the top of the stairs are more built-in shelves, and even built-in planters!
The upper floor loft area is divided into an office and a master bedroom by a half-wall that is low enough to showcase the large windows that run across the top of the room.
(Note that the entire office is built in!)
The home includes a tiny backyard cottage that’s perfect for meditation, music, or art!
